After a warm start, the Tampa Bay area could brace for another round of less severe afternoon thunderstorms today.
Following two days of powerful storms that pounded the region with strong winds, rain and even hail, conditions should ease a bit today, News Channel 8 meteorologist Leigh Spann said.
Once some patchy fog burns off in some areas this morning, highs today will again approach 90 under mostly sunny skies.
There’s a 20 percent chance of rain today, with the afternoon storms forming mainly along I-75 and inland.
Rain chances will decrease leading up to the Memorial Day weekend, with highs approaching 90 and lows near 70.
