A school bus heading to Curlew Creek Elementary collided with a car at a Clearwater intersection Friday morning, police said.
Carolyn L. Brumfield, 57, the driver of the Chrysler LeBaron, was transported by Bayflite to Bayfront Medical Center. She was in stable condition with serious injuries, police said.
None of the four special-needs students on the bus or the driver were injured, police said.
The front of the bus struck the driver’s side of the Chrysler LeBaron at Palmetto Street and Highlands Avenue at 8:23 a.m., police said.
Charges are pending against the bus driver, Rogenia Flowers, 53, of Clearwater. A witness told police she ran a red light, police spokesman Rob Shaw said in a news release.
After the wreck, the students were put on another bus and taken to Curlew Creek Elementary in Palm Harbor.
