Dine Tampa Bay Restaurant Week — a “week” with so much delicious food to try it actually lasts 15 days — kicks off in the Tampa Bay area for its fourth year today.
More than 90 restaurants in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties will offer special-menu deals through Aug. 30.
The prix-fixe, three-course dinners generally include three choices of appetizer, entree and dessert, and are $25, $35 or $45, not including drinks, tax or gratuity.
The event, which takes place during the slowest part of the year for the restaurant business, was designed as a showcase for local restaurants to give customers a broad taste of the dishes they do best, but on a more-affordable level.
This year, the list of participating restaurants includes Tampa Bay area locations of national chains The Melting Pot and Ruth’s Chris, well-established independent eateries such as Datz, The Refinery and Mise En Place and newcomers including the recently-opened Anise Global Gastrobar in downtown Tampa.
