NEW YORK (AP) - Some of the stocks that are moving substantially or trading heavily today on the New York Stock Exchange, Nasdaq Stock Market, and American Stock Exchange.


PepsiCo, down 1 1/4 at 34 1/4

The Purchase, N.Y.-based company is spinning off its $11 billion restaurant business, which includes the KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell chains. PepsiCo shares shot up 11 percent Thursday before the late-day announcement.

Eastman Kodak, down 2 at 86 1/2

The Rochester, N.Y.-based company said its will no longer make Kodak Gold disc film for its disc cameras after Dec. 31, 1998. The disc cameras, introduced in 1982, have not been sold since 1989.

General Motors, up 1 1/2 at 63 3/8

The Wall Street Journal reported that General Motors' board Monday is expected to raise the No. 1 auto maker's lagging dividend and begin a stock-buyback program.


Cascade Communications, down 21 1/4 at 42 7/8

The Westford, Mass.-based company released earnings late Thursday that were above analysts' estimates, but sales of its frame relay products were flat. Those products are the bulk of the company's revenue.

XLConnect Solutions, down 13 7/8 at 9 3/4

Intelligent Electronics, down 3 13/16 to 3 13/16

The Exton, Pa.-based information technology services provider said late Thursday that it expects its fourth-quarter earnings to fall below analysts' estimates. Intelligent Electronics owns a majority stake in XLConnect.

Microsemi, down 2 1/2 at 12 1/2

The Santa Ana, Calif.-based semiconducter maker reported a 32 percent jump in first-quarter earnings, but said revenue was basically flat with a year earlier.
